Jewish Family Service
Friendly Visiting – JFS matches senior residents with volunteers to help them maintain their independence through a range of activities, including assisting with organization and paying bills, arranging medical appointments and accessing entitlements. Volunteers also provide much needed companionship to socially isolated seniors.
Friendly Calling – JFS matches volunteers with senior residents who can benefit from friendly phone calls.
Grocery Shopping – Assists seniors with grocery shopping or other errands.
Transportation Services – Assist with transportation for seniors to medical and other appointments.
Food Pantry – Assist with stocking shelves, packing bags, distributing food and keeping the Food Pantry organized.
Urban Community Garden – JFS has an Urban Community Garden that produces approximately 1,600 pounds of produce each year. The produce is distributed to people who come to the JFS Food Pantry for assistance. Volunteers help plant, maintain, and harvest the garden.
Care Package Delivery To Seniors - Volunteers help deliver care packages to home bound seniors.
